5 Shillings is the orginal price. 192 pages, which includes a Glossary of British slang. Very tight binding. Medium beige paper. Front Cover: Two wrinkle/crease lines (3" each) are beside the Spine at the bottom of the left side plus the usual line crease from book opening by the Spine. Another Cover stuck to this one and a piece of Cover surface is missing (¼" x 4") at the bottom. There's another area where the Covers also stuck at the middle of the book, but I removed it (except for 5-6 very small bits of Cover surface which came off). It's minor. Spine: One faint line crease from book opening at the middle and there's a tear half-way down the Spine. Back Cover: Two very small pieces are missing at the middle of the right edge (1/8" x ¼"). A fingernail indent and a very small (1/64") nick is at the top edge. In General: Water touched along the top (extending inward 2") at the right side (extending inward ½") and the bottom (extending inward 1½") but while an outline is seen the paper's in good shape. The first 20 pages at the beginning have a bit of light pink colour bleed at the top edge. This gradually disappears. Story: Told by a professional criminal (who's probably now 77+, if he's still alive). He claims he doesn't mind spending 1/3 of his life behind bars as long as he's free to live how he wants the rest of the time. I suppose a lot of these twisted ones feel the same way. Somehow, this doesn't quite make sense to me. The Title's a nice play on words.
