1942 is the last Copyright date stated. $.29 (Canada) is the original price. 314 pages, including a little Biography of an up-and-coming Saroyan plus patriotic advertising at the back of the book (These were war years.). Tight binding. Slightly darker medium beige paper.
Front Cover: Tears beside the Spine (2" at the bottom and ½" at the top) and at the bottom and top edges. A small triangular piece (extending inward about ½") is missing at the lower right corner and there's a large triangular crease at the upper right corner as well as handling marks. A crease is beside the left side where the Cover joins to the Spine.
Spine: Torn at the top and bottom where the Cover joins to it (3" at the bottom and 1¼"at the top).
Back Cover: A small triangular piece is missing from the upper left corner (about ½" inward in size). The bottom has some water damage which apparently only touched the Back Cover (extending inward ¼" to 1¼") going from the left edge toward the Spine side).
In General: A bit of ink bleed. The Cover needs regluing but is still attached to the Spine. A name is written in ink at the top of the first page. Page 61-62 has the upper third of the page missing. Page 170 has a triangular corner crease at the bottom left side (extending inward about ½"). Pages 189-208 have a folded/bent upper corner which left a sight mark on a few pages around it.
Page 189 wasn't cut properly and a piece of the bottom edge at the middle needs to be trimmed. There's a small tear beside it. A light blue drawing is on the last two pages and a child's dedication of the book as a gift to her Mother and Father. I left it there as it's a nice gesture on the girl's part.
