Swift, Jonathan Tale of a Tub, The Battle of the Books and Other Satires U.K. J.M.Dent & Sons. 1916 Second Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good. Light orange coloured binding on the covers, with bright gold printing on the spine. 325 pages. Tight binding, but opens easily between pages 112-113 and 258-259. Front Cover: Some brownish water spotting along the right edge (1 1/2") and concentrated at the bottom, right corner (1" x 2"). A small amount of edge wear at the top edge and the bottom, right corner. A couple of tiny holes at the spine side, top, and a small, 1/16" piece is missing from the top edge. Spine: A bit of edge wear at the top, right side, and the bottom, right side. Back Cover: About a dozen water spots on the spine side, extending inward 2", here-and-there. In General: The first page at the front and the last page at the back is a tan colour in spots. Pages 259, plus a few other pages are creased at the upper right corner and this crease mark has carried on to page 300. Story: The book contains some of Swift's Satire and also describes some pranks he pulled on unsuspecting friends. I recommend reading: "A Meditation on a Broomstick". There is always a moral in his stories. A talented writer. Price: 14.25 USD
