Michener, James A. Iberia (Spanish Travels and Reflections) U.S. Fawcett Crest. Mass Market Paperback. Fine. Tremblay, Jean Paul - Maps $1.95 original price. 960 pages. Contains an extensive Index at the back of the book. Very tight binding. Light beige paper (as issued). Red colouring to the edging. Contains many, many photos and maps. Front cover has about 5-6 small wrinkle/creases. but nothing major. Spine has one straight line wrinkle/crease where the book was opened. Back cover has a 1/4" wrinkle/crease at the lower left corner and 2 at the upper left corner (1/4" and 1/2" inward). A small 1" part fold close to the upper right edge of the back cover. One or two folded corners, used as page markers, but small. A couple of places with an ink line at the edge of a paragraph. Michener wrote a very, very extensive travelogue of Spain. I'm impressed with the size and scope of it, altho. I suppose if I let my wife vet the book she'd find some fault with it, being a Latina, and more aware of things than a Gringo, like me. Price: 24.50 USD
Michener, James A. Return to Paradise Canada. Random House. 1951 First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good Minus. 1951 is assumed from the Copyright. Stated that the book is the First Canadian printing. Light beige binding with blue banding and gold lettering. 417 pages. Tight binding, except between pages 312-313 and 408-409. The book needs regluing at the very last page (1/4" wide, by the length of the book). Front Cover: A triangular water stain at the bottom, right side, extending inward 1 1/4" and along the bottom edge (1/2" to 3/4" high). A blue bit of colour along the crease where the cover opens (1/32" wide), beside the spine. Spine: A bit faded from water. Back Cover: Water touched the four edges, extending inward about 2", leaving some puckering at the bottom, right corner, and dull, whitish stains along the other edges. In General: Some of the interior pages have a gentle roll and dip to them, but it's not much, nor many pages. The inside of the back cover and the last page have two child's drawings, in blue, of a Lady Bug and Cat. Story: Michener took an extended return trip to The Pacific and uses what he saw to write this book. I confess to being a bit disappointed in what he believed was an Author's purpose in life. Price: 25.00 USD
