 1. Forester, C.S.  Barbary Pirates, The
U.K. New English Library. 1970 Second Edition. Mass Market Paperback Very Good, Overall.
December, 1970. 5 Shillings original price. 124 pages, plus book advertising at the back of the book. Medium beige paper. Tight binding. Front cover: 2 very small pieces of the surface are missing. One is a semi-circular area, about 1" x 1/16" and the other is the same measurement, but 11/2" long and in a straight line, toward the upper portion of the cover. Spine: One wrinkle/crease down the middle. Back cover: A 3" x 2" portion of the surface is missing where another book cover had stuck to it. The paper is gently water-rippled along the outer edges, extending inward about 2", but it's not too noticeable, except that the paper is slightly coarser looking where the paper fibres swelled, then dried. The book is a brief history of the Berbers, in northern Africa, who originally became what was known as Barbary pirates, or "Barbarians", as the Greeks said of anyone not speaking Greek.

 2. Forester, C.S.  Commodore, The
U.K. World Books/The Reprint Society. 1946 Second Edition. Hard Cover with Wraps. Very Good Reading Copy. Good Plus.
Wine covers, with bright gold, on black, on the spine. 282 pages. Tight copy. Light beige paper. Front Cover: Slight dulling at the top where water touched (about 1/4" inward, slightly more in spots). Back Cover: Water touched along the edges, extending inward, around 2". In General: There's some torquoise colour bleed at the top of the pages (1/4" inward). A slight bit of pinkish colour around the edges of the inside of both covers, and down the spine side(1/8"+). The wrapper has most of this pinkish colour on the back cover and flap. Story: This is the fourth in the Hornblower series. Napoleon is in retreat from Russia, back to France.

 3. Forester, C.S.  Death to the French
U.K. Penguin Books. 1956 First Edition. Mass Market Paperback. Mint Minus. Jacques, Robin - Cover.
$.60 original price. 159 pages. Beige paper. Very tight binding. Small piece of the surface is missing, back cover, middle, beside where the Penguin emblem is printed (about 1/4" x 1/4"+). The upper left corner, back cover, has a 1/4" bend, which extends in for quite a few pages at that spot, which is what prevents the book from being a Mint. A story about Rifleman Dodd, during the Napoleonic wars in Portugal. I recommend the T.V. movies which were made about him.

 4. Forester, C.S.  Randall and the River of Time
Canada. Signet (New American Library). 1968 Mass Market Paperback. Fine.
June, 1968. $.75 original price. 317 pages, plus book advertising at the back of the book. Medium beige paper. Very tight binding. A few very small wear spots on the edge of the spine, where it joins the covers and at the top spine edge. Back cover has a slightly bent corner, lower left, bottom, probably from the book being carelessly put on a shelf. It's not too bad, though (about 3/4" inward, and a secondary partial bend, about a 1/2" above it). Nothing to worry about, though. Randall is an English Grunt, fighting in World War 1, 1917. His wife's back home, in England. The rest, you'll have to read about. C.S.Forester is usually a good Author. So say we all.

 5. Forester, C.S.  Ship of the Line, A
U.K. Penguin Books. 1970 Sixth Edition. Mass Market Paperback Fine Plus.
$1.25 original price. 133 pages, plus advertising at the back of the book. Tight copy. Medium beige paper, slightly darker at the edges (1"). A small, 1/2", semi-circular indent about the middle of the cover, but not too noticeable. A slight upturn at the bottom, right corner (1/8"). A few creases on the spine where the Folios are indicated. Very, very minor edge wear along the bottom of the back and front covers, plus at the top of the spine. An old bookstore price and their stamp is on the first page. Captain Hornblower makes his troubling presence felt by Napoleon, as well as undertaking Commando raids, and so on. Usually always a good read.
