April, 1975. $.95 original price. 192 pages. Very tight binding. Medium beige paper. Green colour to the edging. Front Cover: A line crease, by the spine, from book opening. One triangular wrinkle.crease at the top, right corner (extending inward 1/2") and two partial creases (extending inward 1 1/2" and 3"). Three 1/2" light creases at the right edge, plus the usual fingernail marks. A small bit of edge wear along the edges. Spine: A line crease from book opening, plus some light edge wear along the edges, but mostly at the bottom, right side (2 1/2" high). Back Cover: Creased corners and several creases at the spine side. The back is what I call "Fair" condition, due to the creases. Some edge wear along the edges. In General: Page 33 has a small corner fold at the upper right and this mark has travelled for a few pages. Pages 35-39 have a light brown spot on the right margin, but it's nothing much. A couple of water spots at the top edge, but all that was done was to slightly lighten the green colour as the paper is fine. Story: I rather like the line: "To know her, was to hate her". Anyway, Poirot feels sympathy for the murder victim and, as usual, everyone is a suspect as everyone has a really good reason to knock off the old lady. Get those little grey cells going, Poirot! There's a faint outline of where another paperback rested on the cover, but this should disappear with time, I believe. Three spots inside the book have small, corner bends, but very minor. Back Cover: About a dozen light brown, very small marks (1/8" x 1/4" plus, in size). Minor. In General: Two words are circled, in ink, on page 49. Why, I really don't know. Inside of the front cover are a small number of these light-colored ink run spots. Nothing to worry about, though. The top, and bottom edges of the book have a date, or name stamp and the top, inside, of the first page has a date stamp. Some light purple and light green bleed to the page edges, extending into the pages about 1/4", but 3-4 pages have these colours extending inward about 1". A bit of discolouration where the front cover joins to the spine, at the front, for approximately 5-6 pages, and the same, at the back, for 3-4 pages. The front cover needs to be reglued to the siide and the first page, with printing history, etc., is missing. The last couple of pages are torn at the bottom, due to the sloppy taping job.
