Phantom of the Opera, The, Leroux, Gaston
2 Leroux, Gaston Phantom of the Opera, The
U.K. Sphere Books. 1975 0722154941 / 9780722154946 First Sphere Books Edition. Mass Market Paperback. Mint.
$2.25 is the original price. 212 pages plus a page of book Advertising. Light beige paper. Tight binding.
In General: Page forty-three has a creased upper right corner as a bookmark and this left an impression for a few pages. Other than this the book's as described. I left the original price sticker on the Back Cover because if I removed it there would probably be a glue mark left so I felt it was best this way. This is a Volume in The Dennis Wheatley Occult series of books.
Story: A man's in love with a singer in a Paris Opera House but his face has been badly disfigured. He covers it with a mask and lives inside the Opera House to be close to his former love who he feels will recoil from him over his face. He becomes quite obsessed over her. Master of the Day of Judgment, The, Perutz, Leo
4 Perutz, Leo Master of the Day of Judgment, The
U.S. Collier Books. 1963 #AS 528V. First Collier Books Edition. Mass Market Paperback. Mint Minus.
$.95 is the original price. 158 pages plus an Afterword. Tight binding. White paper. Translator: Singer, Hedwig.
In General: The usual crease's beside the Spine from book opening and a 1" x " bit of the Cover's missing beside the top edge by the right corner.
Story: The Editor says that this book's a precursor to the Supernatural Psychological Suspense Detective type of Story. If so then it would be similar to Wakefield's book which was published by Arkham House many years ago but written with two different ideological outlooks on life. 004501

Portrait of a Man with Red Hair, Walpole, Hugh
5 Walpole, Hugh Portrait of a Man with Red Hair
Canada. Avon Pub.Co. 1949 No ID number. First Avon Edition. Mass Market Paperback. Very Good Plus.
No price's indicated. 188 pages and some Advertising on the inside of the Back Cover. Tight binding. Light medium beige paper. Faded orange colour's on the Spine with a " water mark beside the Spine edge at the bottom.
Front Cover: Four very small brown spots (nothing much), the usual line from book opening by the Spine and a couple of minor 1" indents.
Spine: The Spine was water touched and there are two creases from book opening but it's nothing.
Back Cover: Three light indents from opening the book but they're barely noticeable.
In General: The name of a previous Owner's written on the Title page.
Story: A Gothic Horror Suspense Tale of a man and his son who are both "not quite right in the head", so to say. Reminds me a bit of the man in Woolworth's years ago who was seeing in his mind's eye the Battle of Waterloo taking place. Must have been exciting to him, I guess as I was always curious what he was actually "seeing" as he seemed to be directing things as if standing on a hill while watching. If I wasn't so meek I should have gone up to him and asked. And then, suddenly, you find yourself actually at the battle. Etc. Wouldn't it be interesting if some of these people were actually seeing some of the stuff they go around mumbling about??. After all, it's a strange world we live in, folks. 004678

She Faded Into Air, White, Ethel Lina
6 White, Ethel Lina She Faded Into Air
Canada. Wm. Collins & Sons. 1943 No ID Number. First Wm. Collins & Sons Edition. Mass Market Paperback. About Good.
$.25 is the original price. 191 pages plus some Advertising at the back of the book. Medium beige paper. Tight binding.
Front Cover: Some oaf drew a large X on the Cover. Both corners have small creases and there's the usual crease from book opening at the Spine side. The Cover's in reasonable condition as it's the rose colour that makes it look so so.
Spine: A 2" tear's at the bottom right side and there's wear at the edges.
Back Cover: A bit dirty looking from wear and/or age. It's a bit grundgy, as we say.
Story: A crook pretends solicitude for his missing Daughter and almost gets away with it. Pity that the clown who owned this paperback had to deface it. Heathen. 004897
