Hawaii Special Souvenir Edition., Michener, James A.
1 Michener, James A. Hawaii Special Souvenir Edition.
U.S. Bantam Books. #D3151. New Bantam Ed. (20th). Mass Market Paperback. Very Good Minus.
September, 1966.$1.65 is the original price. Tight binding. 1130 Pages plus Genealogical Charts. Light beige paper. Contains: Many colour photos not in some of the other editions.
Front Cover: Some indents, short and large are on the Cover plus corner creasing.
Spine: The usual crease down the middle from book opening plus an inch of creasing's at the bottom edge.
Back Cover: Some vertical scratching's on the Cover but it's transparent.
In General: The book's still in rather solid condition as the several other copies I have had to be put back together due to its thickness. The colour photos are new ones not in other editions I have for sale. Don't treat this book roughly and it'll last for a long time to come.
Story: The arrival of Missionaries to Hawaii and how they changed the lives of the people living there. I won't go into how the U.S. decided to grab off Hawaii for themselves. It's done. 004463

Waikiki Beachnik, Smith, H. Allen
2 Smith, H. Allen Waikiki Beachnik
Canada. Popular Library. #SP111. First Popular Library (Canada) Ed. Mass Market Paperback. Fine Minus. Water Tchd.
August, 1961. $.50 is the original price. 271 pages. Light medium beige paper. Tight binding. Green colour on the edges.
Front Cover: A few indents from holding the book and the usual crease from opening it.
Spine: Some indents from being water touched.
Back Cover: A few indents from holding the book.
In General: The first few pages are not quite glued to the Spine. I reglued them and think they should hold now.
Story: Smith, as you are aware, is a Humourist and this is his "take" on Hawaii. He refers to Michener's huge and exhaustive book on the Pacific. 004549
