Amazing Science Fiction Stories
1 Amazing Science Fiction Stories
U.S. Ziff-Davis Pub.Co. Volume 35 Number 7. Digest Science Fiction Mag. About Good. Cover Art: Huetzell, Albert. Art: Finlay, Virgil.
July, 1961. $.35 is the original price. 146 pages. Tight binding. Light medium beige paper turning slightly darker at the edges (1").
Front Cover: A couple of creases go widthwise across the Cover along with the usual crease at the Spine side from opening the magazine. A 2" tear's at the bottom, beside the Spine.
Spine: A " is missing at the bottom of the Spine edge.
Back Cover: Various handling marks and a small number of dirt spots are at the left margin.
Story: A Novel by Murray Leinster along with short Stories, one of which is by Gordon Dickson. Some nice Finlay illustrations and the Front Cover features nice work. There's also a Paul illustration although he's not my favourite. You'd appreciate them more if you were able to see some of the originals and not reproductions as there really is no comparison at all. 005039

Mission to Universe, Dickson, Gordon R.
2 Dickson, Gordon R. Mission to Universe
Canada/U.S. Ballantine Del Rey Book. #345-25703-0. First Ballantine Del Rey Book. Mass Market Paperback. Very Good. Cover Art: Von Dongen, H.R.
March, 1977. $1.50 is the original price. 213 pages. Light beige paper. Tight binding.
Front Cover: Some wear at the top and bottom edges plus a 2" indent at the middle of the Cover.
Spine: Three light creases from book opening plus some wear at the edges.
Back Cover: a " creased corner's at the top left and some wear's at the top and bottom edges.
Story: One Human's Mission is to find new worlds for Humanity to colonize. The Aliens on the Cover look a bit like those goofy ones with arms and legs twice as long as our own that I've seen in a couple of videos. They slouch forward when they walk and don't look intelligent enough to make the saucers they fly around in. What I'm curious about is why quite a few of the Aliens who come to Earth wear no clothes. How come? They look like a bunch of Galoots. Or have they evolved so much they have no privates anymore? Sad. 004913
