When the Kissing Had to Stop, Fitz Gibbon, Constantine
2 Fitz Gibbon, Constantine When the Kissing Had to Stop
U.K. Pan Giant Books. 1963 #X186. Third Pan Books Edition. Mass Market Paperback. Good.
Three Shillings Six Pence is the original price. 252 pages plus Advertising. Darker beige paper.
In General: Various handling marks on both Covers but the Spine's Fine. A few pages between page forty-five and fifty-three have bends but they're nothing much.
Story: They're not kidding in their Blurb about this book as it's depressing to browse. The Russians, Chinese, crime groups, Nazis and Baddies of the world take over in England and other areas and set up their usual methods of population control with concentration camps and general other "methods". I wish people in the world would wake up to how things are really going. Again. The book's depressing to browse. Maybe it's better you don't buy the book.Seriously. 004956

Canada. A Bantam Book. #H3158. First Bantam Books Edition. Mass Market Paperback. Very Good. Water Tchd.
April, 1966. $.60 is the original price. 276 pages containing maps and block prints of various aspects of life in the beginning of times in the old Rus' capital, an Index, a bit of Advertising and a very small Bibliography of the Author. Medium beige paper. Tight binding. Yellow on the edges.

Spine: Three creases from book opening plus some bumpiness where water lightly touched.
Back Cover: A couple of fingernail indents and a few other small handling marks plus three or four small, soft indents at the Spine from the water. Very minor.
Story: I browsed a page at the beginning and , yes, Lamb is still a very good Author. He researches before he writes and this is, as usual, an entertaining and well-written book. You'd never get this copy if I didn't already have my own copy in my Library. Recommended. 004876

All Quiet on the Russian Front, Stock, Kurt W.
5 Stock, Kurt W. All Quiet on the Russian Front
Canada. Pocket Books. #671-78630-X. Second Pocket Books Edition. Mass Market Paperback. Mint Minus.
June, 1973. $1.50 is the original price. 228 pages plus Advertising. Light beige paper, darker at the bottom 1". Tight binding. Red colour on the edges.
In General: About four scuff marks are at the top of the Front Cover and a slight indent's at the right edge from other pocket books pressing on this one from being packed in a box before I got to it.
Story: A German soldier's recounting of being captured by the Russians just before the end of the war and being shipped to work in Siberia. I browsed the book and it reads quite well.
However.....let us not forget that Germany started the war, Herr Stock, and its soldiers were very cruel to the people, especially the crazy SS s.o.b's who thought they were next to God and scared the hell even out of Germans. I regret what happened to everyone on both sides but it was tit for tat and revenge for German cruelty. While German soldiers were winning they acted like barbarians and showed no mercy to those they conquered in battle and shot many Canadian unarmed and surrendered soldiers. The Germans reaped what they had sowed. That is life. Do someone dirt and eventually it comes back on you. 004511
