Ralstons, The, Crawford, F. Marion
2 Crawford, F. Marion Ralstons, The
U.S. P.F.Collier & Son. 1893 Hard Cover. About Very Good. Water Tchd.
336 pages. White paper. Tight binding although slightly loose at the Title page. Light brown Covers with the Author's name in orange on the Front Cover and in gold on the Spine. This is Volume twenty-three of a thirty-two volume Set of the complete written works of Crawford.
In General: Four small parts on the top edge of the Covers where the colour's missing. The Front Cover has a 5" very light scratch and there are some almost invisible dried water apots on the Back Cover. Some pages have four light rolls and humps where water touched but they used good paper when printing books in the 1800's (mostly) and it didn't affect the book very much when it dried. Page four has some beige water spots on the bottom quarter panel.
Story:Family life and romance for the Ralston daughters. 005122

Marble Faun, The, Hawthorne, Nathaniel
3 Hawthorne, Nathaniel Marble Faun, The
U.S. Airmont Pub. Co., Ltd. 1966 #CL104. First Airmont Books Edition. Mass Market Paperback. Fine Minus.
$.60 is the original price. Tight binding. 317 pages which includes a discussion of Hawthorne's life and thought processes when writing. Light medium beige paper, darker at the edges and on the inside of both Covers.
Front Cover: A crease and an upturned corner.
Spine: An 1/8" tear's at the top edge.
Back Cover: A creased corner and an 1/8" tear's at the edge.
In General: Page 213-214 is folded/creased as it wasn't cut properly when the book was manufactured and the machinery pushed this page into the book. I left it as is because it will have to be trimmed to fit the book.
Story: Hawthorne examines the meaning of Sin, juxtaposing the Novel against a Roman background of antiquities. Like The Scarlet Letter this book requires a bit of thinking if you're reading it as it's not simply a Romance. 004375.

Mingo Dabney, Street, James
5 Street, James Mingo Dabney
U.S. Pocket Books, Inc. #819. First Pocket Book Edition. Mass Market Paperback. Very Good Minus.
August, 1951. No price's mentioned although it's somewhere about $.25 I should imagine. 341 pages plus Advertising. Light beige paper. Tight binding. Red colour on the edges.
Front Cover: Various creases here-and-there and the Scotch taping's on the Spine's edge. I'm surprised it's still sticking and hasn't fallen off. The two corners are so so.
Spine: Scotch taped as it's torn for 2" at the bottom and there are two torn areas at the top.
Back Cover: A booklength crease's at the middle of the Cover and Scotch taping holds the Cover down.
In General: Page twenty-one had a little issue with the printing machine and is sort of scrunched at the top third. The mark from it continues for several pages after.
Story: Looks like the sort of Story Tyrone Power would do. Who? you ask. Cuba, under Spanish Rule and our book Hero fights for the Cuban people's Cause and, of course, for the beautiful Seorita who's probably a high bred Castilian, or some such. But Seor. Why do you wear the mask? Y mi amor. Mi Padre looks so unhappy. Por que. 004829
