Under Pressure (Orig: Dragon in the Sea, The)., Herbert, Frank
2 Herbert, Frank Under Pressure (Orig: Dragon in the Sea, The).
Canada/U.S. Ballantine Books, Inc. #345-23825-4. First Ballantine Book (Can.) Edition. Mass Market Paperback. Very Good Plus. Cover Art:Berkey, John.

Spine: Two creases from book opening plus some minor wear at the top and bottom edges.
Back Cover: A couple of light fingernail indents from book opening and the usual crease from book opening at the Spine side.
Story: In the Future the U.S. has to resort to stealing oil when their own supplies run out. Implausible. I was recently reading an Article by some Russian Scientists who say that their own supply comes from many miles beneath the surface and they have reason to believe that oil is actually constantly being formed at those great depths and it's a "renewable" source. But no one bothers to check it out, of course. Of course. 004875

Ultimatum, Rohmer, Richard
3 Rohmer, Richard Ultimatum
Canada. Pocket Books of Canada, Ltd. #671-78755-1. First Pocket Books (Canada) Edition. Mass Market Paperback. Fine Minus. Cover Art: Cowie, Brant.
October, 1974. $`1.50 is the original price. Tight binding. 222 pages plus Advertising. Red colour's on the edges. Light beige paper. Contains: a few Maps and Schematics.
Spine: Some wrinkles.
Story: The usual thing where our U.S. friends decide to take over Canada to get our oil. Rohmer had success with his first Best Seller and then started to crank out a couple of Potboilers to cash in. But this is a very nice copy despite the little bit of indenting on the Front Cover. I'm puzzled as the writing on the last page doesn't seem to be complete. Possibly he figured he could write a follow-up to this book and make even more money. 004362
