Ultimatum, Rohmer, Richard
2 Rohmer, Richard Ultimatum
Canada. Pocket Books of Canada, Ltd. #671-78755-1. First Pocket Books (Canada) Edition. Mass Market Paperback. Fine Minus. Cover Art: Cowie, Brant.
October, 1974. $`1.50 is the original price. Tight binding. 222 pages plus Advertising. Red colour's on the edges. Light beige paper. Contains: a few Maps and Schematics.
Spine: Some wrinkles.
Story: The usual thing where our U.S. friends decide to take over Canada to get our oil. Rohmer had success with his first Best Seller and then started to crank out a couple of Potboilers to cash in. But this is a very nice copy despite the little bit of indenting on the Front Cover. I'm puzzled as the writing on the last page doesn't seem to be complete. Possibly he figured he could write a follow-up to this book and make even more money. 004362

Coroner, Shulman, Morton
3 Shulman, Morton Coroner
Canada/U.S. Pocket Books of Canada, Ltd. #671-80225-9. Mass Market Paperback. Fine Minus.
July, 1976. $1.95 is the original price. Tight binding. 176 pages. Light beige paper, darker at the edges. Contains: Some Political Cartoons about Dr. Schulman and a cardboard insert's in the book. I'm not certain if this insert belongs with the book but I left it in and you can decide what to do with it.
Story: Shulman was a Canadian Coroner who wasn't afraid to step on toes while practicing his Profession. He was outspoken and sometimes got into trouble because people in high places seem to dislike being told the truth. They prefer ordering around people under them. A Canadian TV Series was made which was based on this man and the U.S. copied our Canadian Series by making Quincy which was also good. Just in case you thought Quincy was something original happening in the U.S. We copy things from one another and it's not just us copying from the U.S. as your Politicians like to tell you. 'Nuff said. 004361
