Canada. 1942 is the last Copyright date stated. $.29 is the original price (Canada). 314 pages, including a little Biography of an up-and-coming Saroyan, plus patriotic advertising at the back of the book (These were war years.). Tight binding . Slightly darker medium beige paper. Illustrations: Groth, John.
Front Cover: Tears at the bottom and top edges, beside the spine (2" at the bottom and 1/2" at the top). A small, triangular piece (extending inward, about 1/2") is missing at the lower right corner and there's a large, triangular crease at the upper right corner, plus handling marks. A crease is beside the left side, where the Cover joins to the Spine.
Spine: Torn at the top and bottom, where the Cover joins to it (3", at the bottom and 11/4", at the top).
Back Cover: A small, triangular piece is missing from the upper left corner (about 1/2" inward in size). The bottom has some water damage which, apparently, only touched the Back Cover (extending inward, 1/4" to 11/4") as one goes from the left edge, toward the Spine side).
In General: A bit of ink run. The Cover needs regluing, but is still attached to the Spine. If you want me to reglue it for you, ask when purchasing. A name, in ink, is written at the top of the first page. Page 61-62 has the upper third of the page missing. Page 170 has a triangular corner crease at the bottom, left side, extending inward, about 1/2". Pages 189-208 have the upper corner folded/bent, which left a sight mark on a few pages around it. Page 189 wasn't cut properly and a piece of the bottom edge, middle, needs to be trimmed. There's a small tear beside it. A drawing is on the last two pages, in light blue, and a child's dedication of the book, as a gift to her Mother and Father. I left it there, as it's a nice gesture on the girl's part.
