There's a 2" vertical indent at the bottom edge, plus the usual crease is at the Spine from book opening. A 2" x 2 1/2" transparent stain of some sort is at the right edge, middle. I tried wiping it, but it's still there. 3-4 faint pink dots are at the bottom, right corner.
Spine: A couple of light wrinkle/creases are at the middle, from book opening, plus a small bit of edge wear is at the bottom, right.
Back Cover: There are three curved wrinkle/creases at the left side, about the middle, plus some smallish pieces of Cover are missing (1/8" x 1/4", to 1/2" long) at the top, left edge. About 6-7 fingernail indents are at the middle, from book opening, plus there's a 1 1/2" light wrinkle/crease mark at the top, right, Spine side.
In General: The first page is creased at the top, right corner (extending inward, 1/2") and this mark continues for a few more pages. A small bit of water touched the top corner and upper left edge (about 1/2" inward), leaving about 3-4 very shallow indents. But it's nothing much to worry about and is hardly noticeable. Also, a 3/4" vertical indent is at the top edge.

The first 14 pages have a tear (3" long x 1/2" wide) at the Spine side. Hard to say what happened as I've not see this kind of thing before. The first 40 pages have a 1/4" slight upturn at the top, right corners. A water outline shows on the inside of both Covers.

Front Cover: There's a 1" bad tear at the right edge, middle, and several fine line creases lead from it three ways, culminating in another 1" tear at the top edge, Spine side. There's a crease (extending inward 1/2") at the top, left corner, plus an 1/8" upturn, as well as a triple crease at the bottom, right corner (extending inward 1/8", 1/2" and 1"). The usual line crease is beside the Spine, from book opening.
Spine: Some edge wear along the edges, more so at the bottom 1", left edge and right edge, to about the mid-point.
Back Cover: Wrinkle/creases and a fold, from doubling the book when carrying it, plus a 1" x 1" tear at the bottom, Spine side (which I repaired).
In General: The tear, mentioned as being on the Front Cover, extends into the book, at the same spot, to page73. What caused it, other than Mr. Strongman showing off his muscles I don't know. Four small letters are written at the top of the first page.
Story: The world of the future has much overpopulation, requiring population shifting and/or euthanasia to keep things in balance, more-or-less. The book seems to be a good read. Aside: I recently heard on T.V. that China cremates as many dead in one year as we have in all of Canada. Or. roughly, for the U.S, in nine years. Now that's a statistic to make one sit up and think that Silverberg's book may not be too far out. 002731

In General: The usual Library book number and date stamp are at the top of the first page and there are 6-7 smallish (1/32") indents at the bottom edge, gradually becoming smaller until they disappear by around page 29. The usual palm-like imprint on the pages which makes the book stiff to open.
The inside of the Back Cover has an irregular piece torn out at the bottom, left side (about 4" high x 3" wide). (The inside of the Wrapper flap also has a tear which seems to be a continuation of the tear I first mentioned.) Lastly, there are some indents (roughly the same size as those first mentioned) at the far right bottom corner and top right corner (both about 1" x 1" in area). The usual number/name stamp are on the top/bottom edges. Lastly, pages165-178 have a very faint water mark at the top of the page (from ½" - 1" high). Nothing much.
Story: A Watcher who is supposed to guard Earth against Alien invasion is tricked into allowing them to conquer Earth. 003671

In General: The orange coloured edging is mostly missing. 0ne can see where water touched. The paper's not bad only having 4 slight rolls at the right edge plus a small portion at the bottom, right corner has coarser-looking paper (about 1 1/2" inward).
