August, 1961. $.60 is the original price. 174 pages plus book advertising. Tight binding. Medium beige paper, slightly darker around the edges (1"). Red colour on the edges.
Front Cover: A large triangular crease is on the upper right corner (extending inward 2") plus there's a small (¼") corner crease. A number of wrinkle/creases and handling marks.
Spine: The bottom third has tears and general edge wear.
Back Cover: The upper left corner has a triangular wrinkle/crease (extending inward 1½") plus there are other general handling/crease lines.
Story: A Social Worker wrote this book about his observations of poor people living in Manhattan's West Side. I'll have to presume that he wrote the book to try to stir up some help for them rather than just to make a fast buck on an exploitation story. 000831
