Front Cover: A couple of light bottle rings and a couple of fingernail indents at the middle of the Cover. An 1/8" creased corner is at the bottom, right, and a ¼" crease is at the top right. A light crease from book opening. The Spine leans to the right.
Story: A newspaper Editor has a stroke and is unable to do much except lie in bed. He considers his past life during this forced bed rest. 003531

In General: The pages are water rippled and it's made the book a bit stiff.
Story: The book contains two Simenon stories. Simenon likes to describe the psychology behind crime and criminals and usually builds a thorough case study. A good Author. 000395

       September, 1954. Translator: Schaeffer, Cornelia . No price is indicated. 127 pages plus book advertising. Mostly a tight copy. Pale red colour on the edges.
In General: The Back and Front Covers have wrinkles and the Spine is torn at the bottom third of the Front Cover side plus about ¼" at the top. There's general edge wear. The back page is torn in half but is all there. A bit loose around pages 10-11 as the glue is becoming brittle. A water stain is at the top edge (extending inward about 1").
Story: A man marries rich but has a fear of people finding out that he was once poor. His bad Brother escapes from prison and suddenly turns up. This story is one of three which originally appeared in the Hard Cover edition. 000489

There's blue ink bleed from an old book store price at the top, right corner, which, unfortunately, was written in ballpoint on the top, inside, of the Front Cover. There are 3-4 very light curved fingernail wrinkle/creases.
Spine: Some edge wear at the top and bottom edges. 4 very small, beige spots which are either at the top, middle, or bottom.
Story: A French Stripper tells police someone is going to be murdered, but they ignore her. It takes place and then the Stripper is killed. Enter Maigret. Simenon writes intellectual crime stories. He uses his little grey cells, along with a dash of Gallic writing charm. 001263

In General: A Library number and date stamp are on the first page/inside of the Front Cover. A small bit of colour bleed is at the top and bottom of the inside Front/Back Covers but it's nothing much. Marks from where a Library pocket was removed are on the End page. There also appears to have been something removed from the inside of the Front Cover but the Wrapper covers it. The paper's stiff but flipping them should help.
Wrapper: Bars of light colour are on the front, left, and right and left sides of the back.
Story: A headless corpse is fished out of a Paris canal and it's up to Maigret to figure out who did it and why. The paperback version is also listed. 003634

A slight, very light indent is at the top where another book rested on this one (about 1/4" from the edge).

Front Cover (Maigret Has Scruples): Two wrinkle/crease lines down the middle from careless book opening. A wrinkle/crease from book opening is also beside the Spine, plus there's another parallel one (about 3/4" to the right of it). There's a 1/4" tear beside the bottom, Spine side, and a few bits of minor edge wear are at the bottom edge. A couple of mild wrinkle/creases, plus a few manufacturing marks (uplifts).
Front Cover (Maigret and the Reluctant Witness): The same wrinkle/crease lines are here as for the other Cover (The same careless Reader, naturally). The top, right corner has a triangular wrinkle/crease (extending inward 3/4") while the bottom has a 1/4" corner crease. A 2 1/2" wrinkle/crease is parallel to the right edge, plus there are a couple of fingernail indents. A bit of light edge wear is at the bottom edge, plus there are two small (1/8" wide x 1/2" long and 1/8" wide x 1/4" long) pieces of Cover surface missing at the bottom edge, Spine side.

Front Cover: Beigey water marks are on the left and right sides. Some light edge wear at the edges (but not the top edge). An indent is at the right edge where another book pressed into this one. Two light triangular corner creases are at the bottom, right (extending inward ¾") and another light crease is at the top, right side (1¼").
Spine: A light crease from book opening plus an 1/8" tear at the bottom, left side. A bit of light edge wear around the edges.
Back Cover: An indent at the top edge where another book pressed into this one and the bottom 1" has some gentle rolls from water. Light corner creases, but nothing much. A water mark can be seen for (roughly) the first 50 pages. The pages are medium beige (mostly) from water although a few pages are slightly darker, but not many. Around the middle of the book pages water indents can be seen.

In General: The first and last pages of the book have light bluish colour bleed at the top and bottom (1¼" - wide x 1½" - long). The book's end papers are dark Royal blue and show some water spotting. The pages are slightly stiff and have a bit of gentle rolling. The usual number and name stamp are on the top and bottom edges.
Wrapper: The inside flaps are pasted to the book and have some colour bleed.
Story: Written in the First Person the book's about a man who succumbs to weakness and ultimately has to prove to himself that he can atone for it. 001975

A triangular wrinkle/crease is at the upper right corner (extending inward, 1¼") and another small one is at the bottom of the right corner (½"). Three semi-circular fingernail wrinkle/creases. Someone scribbled in ball point at the very bottom of the Cover.
Spine: A partial line crease from book opening is at the very bottom (about 2" long) plus there's a bit of edge wear at the top and bottom edges and 1" of the right side.
Back Cover: A few handling marks around the middle of the Cover and a small (¼" +) wrinkle/crease is at the upper left corner.
