1 Fallaci, Oriana If the Sun Dies (Orig: Si Il Sole Muore).
U.S. Atheneum. 1967 Second Atheneum Edition. Hard Cover. Fair to Gd. Water Touched.
Orange Covers with bright gold print on the Spine. February, 1967. 404 pages, including a brief Biography of the Author and an Index at the back of the book. Original colour paper. Very tight binding. The top 3" of the edge has most of the original dark green colour washed out but nothing entered the book. Translator: Swinglehurst, Pamela.
Front Cover: Badly rippled by water. Some black ink bleed (mostly at the top and sides, upper half.)
Spine: Water touched along the left side (extending inward ¾") leaving its outline and dulling the gold printed word, "Atheneum" at the middle of the Spine.
Back Cover: Badly rippled and some black ink bleed beside the Spine (1" wide at the left side and about 4" wide at the right side.) The inside of the Back Cover has ink bleed toward the upper left side. The Frontispiece has a 1" - wide water - stained area by the Spine side. This disappears by about page 14 (counting the Frontispiece as page 1).
A small bit of red colour bleed which ends by page 18 is at the bottom of the left pages side. There's also a light bit of red colour bleed at the bottom of the Spine - side edge (for about 6 pages before ending.) The book has a slight bow due to the Covers slightly warping. The pages are a bit stiff.
Story: Fallaci writes dialogue with her Father which she's mentally been writing over the years in an attempt to rationalize her conflicts with him, with the modern era, with where Humanity is heading and possibly must head in the future. The names and events she uses are real but the book is what one calls an automatic subconscious transcription of instant thought - to - page as one thinks it. She's also a Ray Bradbury fan if this helps you to see where she's going? 000724
