1971 is the only Copyright date mentioned. $.75 is the original price. Tight binding. Light medium beige paper. 319 pages plus some book advertising. Red colour on the edges.
Front Cover: A triangular corner crease at the bottom right (extending inward 1½") plus the usual wrinkle/creases from book opening at the Spine side.
Spine: Two creases from book opening and a bit of edge wear at the right side. There's a slight amount at the top and bottom edges and left side, here-and-there.
Back Cover: A couple of slanted 5" vertical wrinkle/creases which start at the bottom of the Spine side. Some light edge wear at the bottom edge and three small white dots are at the top third of the Cover. The black Cover is a bit lighter at the top third, possibly from scuffing.
In General: The second-last page has a creased corner at the bottom right (extending inward 2") and this mark carried to the last page. The first couple of pages have a slight mark from the creased corner mentioned as being on the Front Cover.
Story: Some nasties from Earth have rediscovered nuclear weapons and want to conquer the peaceful planet of Pradai. 003940

Waugh, Evelyn Scoop/Put Out More Flags

January, 1961. $.75 is the original price. 416 pages. Tight binding but opens a bit easily between pages 240-241 and 250-153, corresponding, roughly, to where the wrinkle/crease from book opening is on the Spine. Green colour on the edges with four small, vertical lightened streaks at the top edge (about 1/8" - wide, each).
Front Cover: The usual light crease from book opening at the Spine side. A light double wrinkle/crease at the top, right corner (extending inward ¼" and ¾"). The bottom, right corner has a ¼" crease. There are a couple of fingernail indents from book opening at the right edge plus there's a faint (¼") impression of another book resting on this one. Some very small bits of edge wear are at the bottom edge.
Spine: The wrinkle/crease I mentioned plus a bit of edge wear at the edges.
Back Cover: A ¾" - long bit of (?) dirt, but it's minor. In General: The book's not quite glued true at page 253. The first page has a family crest stamped on it from a previous Owner but it's quite small (about 2" high x 1" wide). The first 3 pages have a small bit of light greenish colour at the middle, right edge. There's a small bit of light green colour at the top edge of the pages, but it's nothing much. The second story begins after page 215. Story: (Scoop): - A Nature Writer is sent to cover a civil war.

$.40 is the original price. Tight binding. Light medium beige paper, slightly darker at the edges (¾").
Front Cover: A brownish water mark is at the Spine side (1/8" - wide). There are also a couple of soft rolls at the Spineside. A ¼" creased corner is at the top right and the mark continues to about page 30 before it dies out.
Spine: A crease from book opening plus tears along the left edge. A very small (1/32") bit of Cover surface is missing at the bottom left.
Back Cover: A few soft rolls are at the Spine side.
In General: The name of a previous Owner is stamped in red at the top of the first page. A brownish water mark is at the right page edge (page 97) and gradually disappears, leaving only a few soft ripples by page 127. Page 143 has a ¾" tear at right edge.
Story: Another Waugh satire on (then) modern conventional English Mores. 003595

Spine: 6 fine creases from book opening and a couple of spots of edge wear at the top/bottom edges.
Back Cover: A faint scratch (1¼" long) is at the middle of the left side.
Story: Waugh recaps about some of the travels/adventures/people he met which he wrote about in his previous books. This is an interesting book as it gives an insight into how things were before World War 2 changed things forever. 003914
