Front Cover: 3 very small, faint (?)fingernail scratches are beside the left side.
Back Cover: A faint white line is at the right edge at the bottom half of the book and at the very bottom (where another book pressed on this one). It took some of the colour and left a little bit of scuffing and small white dots at the bottom third.
In General: Minor bits of edge wear along the edges of both Covers and the Spine plus a small bit where the Spine joins to the Back Cover. Two faint black lines are on the bottom edge which indicates this was originally a store return.
Story: Durrell translated and adapted a Greek novel which suggested that Pope John V111 was really an Englishwoman in disguise. 000621

In General: There's very minor edge wear along the edges plus a small (¼") faint triangular bend at the top corner of the Back Cover.
Story: A rumour from the Middle Ages was that Pope John V111 was actually an Englishwoman in disguise. Durrell wrote his own interpretation, based on his translation from a Greek novel. 000739

Front Cover: There are a few creases at the top, left, Spine side, and some wear is around the right edge at the top 3".
Spine: A few light creases and a bit of edge wear is around the edges. There are a few smallish wrinkle/creases and marks, from book handling.
Back Cover: A triangular corner crease is at the bottom, left (extending inward, 1"). There are 2-3 fingernail indents (1", curved) at the middle, from book opening, and a slight, small rolling is at the bottom edge.
In General: The first two pages have creased corners and there's a small rolling at the bottom, and right edges (extending inward, 1/2"), as well as at the top (extending inward, about 1 1/2", for 1/2 the book). Some pages have very small corner creases, but they're nothing much.
Story: The Secret Service, operating in the Balkans. 002817
