March, 1962. Authorized edition. $.50 is the original price. 160 pages plus an Index at the back of the book. Medium beige paper, slightly darker at the edges (¾"). Red colour on the edge. Contains: Many black-and-white photos.
Front Cover: A ½" x ½" piece of Cover surface is missing at the top right corner. Two ¼" tears are at the right edge at the middle. An uplifted corner is at the right, bottom. A ½" tear beside the Spine edge at the left side. A couple of wrinkle/creases ( each is 2" long) are at the top third of the Cover plus there's a U-shaped scuff mark. Some minor edge wear at the bottom edge.
Spine: A very small bit of edge wear at the top and bottom edges. Two triangular wrinkle/crease marks are at the bottom corner at the left (extending inward ¾" and 1") plus there's a ¼" bend at the same corner. A fingernail indent from book opening plus a ¼" indent at the left edge at the middle.
In General: The bottom right corner has some pages which are either creased or upturned at this spot. Water touched the top left edge (2" ), the right edge at the top (½" x ¼") and a spot at the bottom edge (1/8"). The paper isn't touched, just the edge colour.
Story: President Kennedy's World War 2 encounter with the Japanese destroyer which sliced in half his PT boat. The story's written from both the Japanese and American side of the action. It's how he injured his back, if you're curious. 000859
