Canada. #F2817. August, 1965. $.50 is the original price. 167 pages, including a bit about the various Authors, plus some book advertising at the back of the book. Very tight binding. Light medium beige paper.
Front Cover: A 1/4" triangular crease is at the top, right, plus there's a 1" curved crease at the bottom, beside a snakey bit of rubbing, also at the bottom, right corner. There's a 2" vertical crease at the Spine side, middle, and the Spine, itself, has about 7 small (1/8") creases. There's some light edge wear at the edges.
Spine: A light wrinkle/crease line, from book opening. 5 of the small creases, mentioned as being on the Front Cover, Spine side, continue onto the Spine. There's a 1/4" tear at the bottom, left, and some general edge wear is at the edges.
Back Cover: Both corners have small, triangular creases (A double, at the top, left corner, extending inward 1/8"and 1/2", and at the bottom, left corner, extending inward, 1/4"). A 1/2" vertical crease is at the top edge, plus there are 4-5 small, vertical indents, but they're nothing much.
Story: 13 sf. stories, written by French Authors, involving love, but with a Gallic twist. 002700

Original sf. stories. Green boards (same colour as the Wrapper) with black print. $4.95 is the original price. Very tight binding but opens easily at pages 140-141.
Book: There once was something pasted to the End page but it's been removed. There's a small bit of light beige glue stain at the top right and a bit of vertical rippling from it. A date stamp and four numbers are stamped at the top of the page. The End paper also has had removed the (?) Sign-out sheet as a piece of it is still there and if one holds the page to a light there's a piece of paper surface at the middle of the page which is thinned. The usual numbers and "Library Copy" are stamped on the top and bottom edges.
Wrapper; The end flaps are pasted to the insides of the Covers.

In General: The usual Library number's stamped at the top of the Frontispiece and at the top edge. "Library Copy" is stamped on the bottom edge. Pages 125-192 seem to have a very slight indent at the bottom right corners (extending inward about 1"). Very minor, though. Page 193-194 has some small pale red dots at the middle of the bottom edge (about ¾" x ¾"). A few small spots (1" long x ¼" high) are lightened on the Front Cover's top edge.
Story: 12 original short Science Fiction stories. The Authors can be seen on the Cover scan. 003905

Black Covers with red print on the Spine. Stated to be an Original publication. $5.95 is the original price. Tight binding. Original white paper. 219 pages. Remnants of a Library pocket and some Library numbers, etc., stamped at the top of the Frontispiece. There's the usual Library I.D. number stamped on the top edge. Some of the pages at the front and back appear to be indented so I presume that water touched the book.
Wrapper: Mylar - covered. The back of the Wrapper appears to have some pale beigey colour on it.
Story: 16 original sf. stories. Damon Knight usually put together good collections. 003630

U.S. #ZB-14. $.35 is the original price. 159 pages. Tight binding, but opens easily between pages 20-21. Light beige paper, slightly darker at the edges (1/2"). Cover Art: Powers, Richard.
Front Cover: 7 fingernail indents (1" each) from book opening are at the middle of the book. 3-4 wrinkle/crease lines are beside the Spine (1/2" - 2 1/2" long). Light edge wear at the bottom edge. A creased corner is at the bottom edge (1/2" deep) and a bent corner is at the top (1/2" deep).
Spine: 2 horizontal tears are at the middle and a 1/2" tear is at the left and right edges, also at the top. A small (1/8") piece is missing at the right edge.
Back Cover: A Spine tear (extending inward for a 1/2") is at the middle. There are 2-3 light marks, here-and-there, plus the usual slightly-bent corners (about 1/2" deep).
In General: A couple of words are written at the top of the inside Front Cover and first page. Upturned page corners (at the top and bottom) are in the book.
Story: A machine is invented which can manufacture people to whatever standards one can wish for. 001394
