Lowell, Captain Vernon W. Airline Safety is a Myth Bantam Books. 1968 First Bantam Books Edition. Mass Market Paperback. Very Good. $.95 is the original price. 242 pages, plus book advertising at the back of the book. Very tight binding. Medium beige paper. Front Cover: A triangular, double wrinkle/crease at the bottom, right corner (extending inward 1/4" and 1/2"), plus a 1/4" x 1 1/2" long indent crease at the right edge, probably from someone dropping the book and then catching it. A bit of light edge wear at the edges. Spine: The usual wrinkle/crease line from book opening, plus light edge wear at the edges (but not the left edge). Back Cover: The bottom edge has about 1/4", or less, of cover surface removed. In General: The crease mentioned for the cover's right edge extends inward for 3-4 pages, but as a small, 1/4" tear. From page 194, onward, is a lengthy listing of airline incidents. Story: As the title says. Don't forget, though, that this is a 1968 edition and things have changed, either for the better, or for the worse. For many years there's been aviation fuel available which has a flame retardant so that a crash doesn't mean a fire. I've always been very curious why this has quietly disappeared from public knowledge. Or is this stuff being used? Price:
