$.35 is the original price. 144 pages. Very tight binding. Red colour to the edging. A double, triangular wrinkle/crease is at the top, right corner (extending inward 2" and 2 1/2"). There are 5 small indents/light creases at the Spine side and the Cover appears a bit spotty.
Spine: A couple of fine line creases are at the middle, from book opening, plus there are some fine wrinkles, from water.
Back Cover: A small bit of colour is missing at the right edge (about 1" deep, here-and-there), but it's nothing serious. The Cover looks a bit scuffed/spotty.
In General: Page 105 has a 1/8" upper right corner crease and this mark continues for a few pages after it. There are a couple of ballpoint lines on the inside of the Front Cover. There's a 1/4" discoloured spot on the bottom coloured edge, beside the Spine.
Story: A Teacher is too good-looking for her own good and has all the town's Males panting after her. 002509

Front Cover: A manufacturing line runs down the book close to the Spine side. A couple of very small spots of edge wear are at the bottom edge and a few very faint scratches, here-and-there, but it's really nothing at all.
Back Cover: About a dozen random very small dot-like indents. I haven't got a clue as to what could be the cause.
Story: Caldwell took a trip through the Southern U.S. in the mid-1960's to locate a person, noting conditions vis-à-vis white/black relations as he travelled and he didn't like much of what he saw going on. Can't say that I blame him. 002892

Front Cover: A couple of places where another Cover still remains.
Spine: A line crease, from book opening, plus a bit of small creasing, from water.
Back Cover: I made a new Cover as the old one was hopelessly stuck to another one.
In General: The pages have about a 1/4" of colour bleed at their edges, plus the same amount of rolling. The book's slightly stiff, but it's not too bad. The Cover remnants can probably be removed with patience, and care, but I haven't got the time to do it. I removed what I could in the time I had. Some pages have small corner creases at the bottom, right. There's a small mark, from page 11-27 where a previous owner had used a hairpin as a book mark.
Story: A writer experiences romantic love which, until then, he'd only written about in his novels. 002578

Canada. #732. November, 1949. 160 pages. Reasonably tight binding, but opens easily between pages 14-15 and 140-141. Light tan paper. Red colour on the edges.
Front Cover: A 1/4" triangular creased corner is at the top, right. The usual crease at the Spine side from book opening. Edge wear at the Spine side.
Spine: Edge wear at the left side and a 3/4" tear at the bottom, right side.
Back Cover: A curved wrinkle/crease is at the bottom, left corner (extending inward 1"). 8 or 9 light fingernail creases from book opening. The top, left, has a 1/4" lightly creased corner.
In General: The first 10 pages, or so, have a couple of soft indents to the paper at the bottom, Spine side.
Story: A woman is unsuccessful in finding a husband for her daughter. This book is one of a series of novels Caldwell wrote to depict a complete picture (his version) of Southern life in a small town. 001513

Mostly reasonably tight pages, but one has to be careful when turning them as the glue is becoming rather brittle. Light tan paper. Orange colour to the edging.
Front Cover: A 3" vertical wrinkle/crease is at the top edge and a 6" upward slanted one is at the bottom, Spine side, There are 2 triangular, light creases at the bottom, right corner (extending inward 1" and 1 1/4"), plus there's an 8" vertical wrinkle/crease, parallel to the right edge. And there's the usual fine line crease, beside the Spine, from book opening. A bit of light edge wear at the bottom edge.
Spine: Various small creases, plus the usual one, down the middle, from book opening.
Back Cover: A triangular wrinkle/crease is at the bottom, left corner (extending inward 1") and a 1/4"+ one at the top, left corner. There are also several others, here-and-there.
In General: The creased bottom, left corner, extends into the book, leaving a slight bend to the pages at the same spot. There's a bit of rolling at the bottom 3-4" of the interior, at the Spine. The book's been read.

Canada. #335. 1948 is the only stated Copyright date. No price is indicated. 191 pages, plus one page of book advertising at the back of the book.Tight binding, but opens easily between pages 30-31. Light tan paper. Red colour on the edging.
Front Cover: Both corners have triangular wrinkle/creases (extending inward 3/4" at the top and 1/2" at the bottom). Two wrinkle/crease lines from book opening are beside the Spine and three other vertical wrinkle/crease lines are on the Cover. The bottom 2" is torn where it joins to the Spine.
Spine: Edge wear along the edges and a piece is missing at the bottom (about 1" high).
Back Cover: 4-5 wrinkle/creases, including one at the bottom, left corner (extending inward, 1"). A bit of scuffing, mostly at the bottom which left light whitish areas in a couple of places.
In General: A few pages have creased corners and whoever had the book last inked in some of the "o" lettering on the first, and last pages. There's also a bit of light ink on the inside of the Back Cover, at the bottom, right corner.
Story: Georgia, racial conflict and lynching. 001179
