1 Dirvin, C.M., Joseph I. Mrs. Seton
Avon Books. 1962 First Avon Books Edition. Mass Market Paperback. Very Good Minus.  June, 1962. $.95 is the original price. 544 pages, which includes: Sources, a Bibliography, and an Index. Tight binding, except opens fairly easily betwen pages 266 and 267. Light tan paper, darker at the edges (1" at the top, 1/2" at the right side, and 3/4" at the bottom edge). Front Cover: A triple crease at the top, right corner (extending inward 1/4", 1", and 2"). A double crease at the bottom, right corner (extending inward 1/4" and 3/4"). A wrinkle/crease is 1/4" from the spine side and another verticle wrinkle/crease is about 1" from the spine, extending vertically for 3". There's some edge wear at the edges. Spine: Many wrinkle/crease lines, from book opening. Back Cover: A triple, triangular wrinkle/creased corner at both corners (extending 1/4", and a double at 3/4", at the top corner, and 1/4"and 1" at the bottom corner). A deep wrinkle/crease at the spine side, from book opening, plus two others, beside it (about 3", and 2" high). In General: The covers show wear as someone has obviously studied the subject. There's an article about Mother Seton which was originally Scotch taped to the first page, but, as we all know what happens with Scotch tape, it's now loose, but the taping mark is still there. Possibly a maximum of 8 pages have a page circled, in ink, and a line beside a paragraph which the previous Reader considered to be pertinant. Story: This is a Biography of Mother Seton, written by Father Joseph Dirvin. She was founder of the first U.S. parochial school, the first U.S. Catholic orphanage and the founder of the first native American Sisterhood. The book is well-written.
