1 Buck, Pearl S. God's Men
U.S. Pocket Books (Cardinal). 1953 #C-114. First Pocket Books (Cardinal) Edition. Mass Market Paperback. Fair. Rd. Copy. Water Tchd. Cover Art: Dunn, Tom.
October, 1953. $.35 is the original price. Tight binding. Medium beige paper (with some pages slightly darker). 452 pages plus book advertising.
Front Cover: Indents and creases at the corners and Spine side. See: Cover scan.
Spine: A bit worn and a couple of creases from book opening. I reglued/reinforced it.
Back Cover: A couple of very light indents at the top left corner and the usual crease from book opening at the Spine side. An 1/8" creased corner at the bottom left and a few small rolls/indents at the left edge but this Cover is in quite nice shape.
In General: At page 215 water dried and the next 10 pages, or so have varying amounts of dark beige at the Spine side, gradually becoming less. The first 50 pages have either a creased corner, a line imprint from this or an upturn at the bottom right corner. Light rolls/indents are at the right page edges (extending inward ½").

2 Buck, Pearl S. Good Earth, The
U.S. Washington Square Press. 1973 #671-47897-4. First Washington Sq. Press Edition. Good. Reading Copy.
U.S. #671-47897-4. July, 1973. $.95 is the original price. 344 pages. Light tan paper, slightly darker at the edges (3/4"). Very tight binding. Contains: A 48 page Supplement in the middle of the book which contains many photos and descriptions of the Author's story technique, as well as descriptions of some of the things found in China which she mentioned. It's a good aid to understanding the story.
Front Cover: Missing, but I made a new one for it.
Spine: A very faint wrinkle/crease line from book opening, plus a bit of edge wear at the edges.
Back Cover: A faint, triangular wrinkle/crease line is at the bottom, left corner (extending inward 1"). Another one is at the top, left corner, as well as a smaller (1/4"-sized) one at the same corner. A 2" x 1/8" - wide crease is at the top edge and there are a few fingernail indents, plus some edge wear at the top and bottom edges (It's a black Cover so it shows everything).
In General: The first 8 pages have a corner fold/bend at the top, right (extending inward 1 1/4"). The Back Cover and Spine are rather peculiar in that the Cover texture resembles black snake skin.
Story: Wang Lung's daily life in China, before, and during the Japanese invasion. Humanity's struggle to better itself, aided by Mother Earth. It was made into a nice movie, with Paul Muni. A classic story. Recommended. 001419
