U.S. Doubleday and Co. 1955 Book Club Edition. Hard Cover. Fine Minus. Water Touched. Wrapper: V. Gd. Water Tchd. Wrapper Art: Docktor, Irv.
Very nicely textured Beige Covers with red printing on the Spine. 222 pages. Very tight copy. Medium beige paper. Red colour on the top edge. Slightly faded at the Spine edge and with rough - cut side pages. The Frontispiece and End paper have a water mark (extending inward ¼").
Wrapper: A couple of very small tears are at the bottom edge and there's a crease at the Spine, left. There's a ¼" of wear at the top, right and left corners. The inside of the Wrapper has pink colour bleed along the Spine and a bit at the bottom edge.
Front Cover: Has a water mark (extending inward ¼" for half the width from the bottom edge and 1/8" - high for the balance).
Back Cover: At the bottom is a water mark (¼" - high x 1" long) from the Spine, onward.
In General: The rest of the book appears to be in very good shape when one holds it up closely to the light to check it over.
Story: There are two types of people after the War. Those who want to learn, and those who don't. The book is written in folksy manner of speech. 000238

U.S. #345-24289-0. $1.25 is the original price. 262 pages, with book advertising at the back of the book. Very tight copy. Medium beige paper, slightly darker at the edges (1"). Yellow colour on the edging.
Front Cover: 2 wrinkle/creases are at the bottom third (1" long) and 5-6 faint marks are at the middle but they're not very noticeable. A very light, white line from book opening is by the Spine (about 2" long).
Spine: Several wrinkle/crease lines from book opening are at the middle. A minor indent from another book resting on top of this one is at the top and left edges ( extending inward, about 1/32").
In General: A very faint line at the top edge indicates that this was once a discard. There's a 1/2" slightly discoloured portion at the top, right edge (extending downward on the right edge, about 1/4"). The last 3-4 pages, and the inside of the Back Cover have a small (1/4" x 3/4") very light beige spot.
Story: Due to a war most Americans have reverted back to farming and Technology is outlawed. Although.... 001096
