Your information is seen only by PayPal and the store has security features to protect this information. You don't have to belong to PayPal unless you already have an account with them and want to transfer funds from it. We only accept PayPal and the cards they accept. We are here to help. Shipment of orders
Shipment is by the fastest service and the cheapest rate. All items are shipped in bubble envelopes if weight and size allows it. Books are securely wrapped in a reusable plastic sleeve to prevent damage. Everything from here is shipped and charged, according to its weight.Condition of Items listed
We base the condition of an item as follows:
Mint, Fine, Very Good, Fair, Poor. For each seection we divide it into a minus or plus condition, or exactly at that condition. There are15 grades we choose from.
We also judge the item for scuffs, stains, tears, original colouring of the edging, tightness of binding, whether it's free of writing and how well the printed page has withstood aging and whether water has touched the book/magazine.
Lastly, is the matter of scarcity. Before we price anything we check it against other sources, when possible, to be certain the price is approximately correct. We've been doing this since 1949 and have a fair idea as to condition and price. We might goof, at times, either way, but we find that, if anything, sometimes our prices are too low as Dealers seem to buy here and that isn't done unless they figure they can resell at an even higher price.
If some prices seem high that's what the going price is in the world of Book Dealers. We try to be accurate and fair.
Due to our local climate being further north on the continent book and magazine paper from Winnipeg seems to often be in better condtion for similar items offered elsewhere. There are a few exceptions depending on paper stock used as the cheaper the paper, the quicker the oxidation. Paper Condition
I grade the paper as follows:
1. White paper. This is self-explanatory.
2. Light beige paper. Slightly darker than white. The paper is just beginning to change colour due to oxidation, but it's still light.
3.Medium beige paper. Slightly darker than the Light beige.
4. Light tan paper. Darker than the Medium and beginning to reach the next stage of oxidation, but not too bad.
5. Medium tan. The paper is now beginning to get to a darker stage.
6. Light brown. Toasty colour.
7. Dark brown.
