Am not certain as to the original issue price as the sticker fell off and it took a small bit of the selling price with it. 762 pages with Editor's Notes, a Chronology of Conrad's life and a Biographical Note. White paper. Tight binding.
Front Cover: The usual corner crease, one 1" tear at the bottom and residue from the missing price sticker. The former white background's now slightly beige.
Spine: A few light creases and one from book opening which's close to the beginning. For such a large book there are relatively few Spine marks.
Back Cover: Two creases are at the left side and a small bit of edge wear's at the top, left edge.
In General: A name's written in ink at the top of the first page and three pages toward the back of the book have small annotations in ink beside certain written paragraphs so possibly this was used by a Student.
Story: This is a very good book to introduce a person to Conrad. When you consider that the man originally had to teach himself English as he spoke Polish he was a remarkable Writer. Possibly a bit too expecting of his Hero being so nobel he'd sacrifice everything to be the typical brave Knight honouring the nobility of Principles while astride his white steed even if it meant his death.
This book possibly contains the revised version of one of his Stories as after it was originally published the Editors and Conrad discovered that a portion of what he'd written contradicted what he'd previously written so he did a rewrite. This is a very good Collection of, and about Conrad. Recommended.
