Condition: Depending on condition, our items vary from Mint/Very Fine, to Reading copies and are priced accordingly. We also take into consideration scarcity and condition/water touching of an item. If we feel that what we offer is in superior condition to other Book Sellers then we charge a higher price, determined by our own pricing formula. If the condition is so-so, then we charge less, of course.
A book is listed with most of the little nicks and dents we see, much as one buys a used car. What you get is what you've already seen by reading our description and viewing the Cover scan. All books/magazines are checked, Cover-to-Cover. Comics: We try to list Artists we can locate who did the stories. Sometimes we aren't able to make out their name so omit them or list only a last name if it's readable. We only list the first story in a comic if the Title is mentioned. It's as an aid for those of you who are making a compilation of an Artist's work or who are already aware of what type of Art an Artist does. First Edition Entries: When a book is listed as a First Edition it means that this is a First Edition for that particular Book Company printing. It doesn't mean that it's always the True First Edition (when the book was first printed anywhere). We'll mention True First Editions whenever it's listed on the printed page by the Publisher of the book. Some Publishers state that their printing is an Original which we construe as meaning a True First Edition (something published for the first time anywhere) and it's listed as such.
If a book is listed as being published in Canada/U.S., this means that the Cover was printed in the U.S. and the body of the book was printed in Canada. This came about in order to comply with (before the Free Trade Agreement) Canadian government regulations for having Canadian content. First Editions in Canada, the U.S., or the U.K. don't necessarily coincide as to dates published, but they're still First Editions in their respective countries.Postage Rates and Delivery Times: To help you to decide the amount of postage to send with an order we now list rates (roughly) according to the number of pages in a pocket book or the type of magazine/book which will provide an approximate weight for that postage rate, depending on whether you want Air or Surface mail. Sometimes the delivery time between Air and Surface is not really worth paying the extra postage for Air. We'll email you if extra postage is required so please look at your email. However, we've found, so far, that listing postal rates by the number of book pages appears to work rather well . If you don't reply to several emails when we do need to request extra funding then we'll automatically refund your money as we have to assume that you're not interested. There are at least 9 types of mail rates. Surface mail is slow but (relatively) cheap and we suggest this, except for overseas where a book can take up to three months to arrive in some countries so we suggest using Air. Otherwise delivery times are roughly about 2 weeks, to 3 weeks, plus. Listed delivery times are approximate. Once the book leaves us we aren't able to personally run down to your house and deliver it. We mention this as we sometimes have someone think that everything's written in stone. Let's be realistic, shall we? Teleportation hasn't been invented yet except in Star Trek. It will, one day, but not right now. We've carefully checked postal rates with one big- name U.S. book Company and find that they overcharge, despite claiming to the contrary, so don't knock our rates. With another large U.S. carrier we've found that their delivery times sometimes aren't as great as they claim and the extra charges aren't really worth it. Postal service is just about as fast.
There are no special Book Rates in Canada and postage charges are usually higher from this country as our Postal Service operates as a business and must make a profit on their operations.Communication via email: Please check your email as we always send a confirmation when an order has been processed.PayPal/Credit Cards Payment: When using a Credit Card choose the payment method listed as "Credit Card (via PayPal)". Visa, MasterCard, etc. cards are entered here. This brings you to the PayPal log-in page. Fill in the requested information, sign in, go to the left side and click the credit card you will be using, then fill in the information requested. Bank encryption technology is used for your safety. Please note that you don't need a PayPal account. PayPal is the only one who sees this information. You must have a PayPal number, issued by PayPal, to confirm that your payment has been processed by PayPal. If there's no number appearing then your order hasn't been processed and will have to be repeated. In this case we'll restore the original book to Inventory so you're able to redo the transaction if it's already been deleted PayPal also provides a Toll-free telephone number where they can be reached if you're having problems. How to View Photos for Books: Point and click on the image or underlined book/magazine Title. A colour scan appears and you'll be able to see an enlarged view of the book/magazine.
Front Cover scans are available only as the pictures take up a lot of space. You can also use the photos available to judge for yourself whether descriptions are accurate. We provide Front Cover scans of everything listed.
